Zmuszeni zostaliśmy do zatrzymania mo cno już zaawansowanych prac nad 11. edycją Carnavalu Sztukmistrzów\, gd yż festiwal w dotychczasowej formule dużej imprezy ulicznej\, z bogatym programem zagranicznym\, nie byłby bezpieczny dla widzów. Ograniczenia e pidemiczne nie pozwoliły też na utrzymanie planowanego terminu i kształ tu festiwalu.\n\nJako twórcy i organizatorzy największego festiwalu sztu ki nowego cyrku w Polsce postanowiliśmy skupić się na tym\, co stanowi jedną z głównych misji festiwalu od początku jego istnienia\, czyli ak tywnym wspieraniu polskich artystów zajmujących się cyrkiem współczes nym. Tym samym tegoroczna edycja Carnavalu Sztukmistrzów odbędzie się w formule showcase'u polskich produkcji cyrku współczesnego\, w skali jak iej jeszcze nie było.\n\nZapraszamy na jedenastą\, absolutnie wyjątkow ą\, jak cały rok 2020\, edycję Carnavalu Sztukmistrzów\, w której gł ówną rolę odegrają polskie premierowe spektakle cyrkowe. Festiwal pod nazwą „Incydent Polski” odbędzie w terminie 17-20 września na kilku scenach plenerowych.\n\nNazwa odnosi się do nagłej i niespodziewanej sy tuacji\, w której jako organizatorzy międzynarodowego festiwalu się zna leźliśmy\, ale jest też symbolicznym rozpoczęciem poszukiwań tzw. cha rakteru polskiej sceny cyrkowej. Jednocześnie pokładamy wiarę\, że poj edynczy i nagły incydent przerodzi się w pierwsze w Polsce regularne for um prezentacji polskich współczesnych spektakli cyrkowych. Jesteśmy prz ekonani\, że przyczyni się też do dynamicznego rozwoju tej dziedziny sz tuki performatywnej w Polsce i poprzez współpracę m.in z międzynarodow ą platformą Circus Next\, zyskania również szerszego rozgłosu między narodowego.\nW związku z powyższym mamy nadzieję\, że ten rok kryzysu jest też szansą – stanie się rokiem intensywnego rozwoju branży i za owocuje wieloma dobrymi spektaklami\, które w kolejnych sezonach ruszą w Polskę i świat.\n\nW programie festiwalu Carnaval Sztukmistrzów „Inc ydent Polski” znalazły się spektakle i pokazy plenerowe w różnej ska li – od jednoosobowych występów o charakterze buskerskim do dużych re alizacji teatralnych. Wśród nich są dwie produkcje laureatów konkursu na cyrkowy spektakl plenerowy\, który został przez nas zainicjowany i pr zeprowadzony na początku tego roku oraz pięć propozycji konkursowych z najwyższą punktacją i trzy nadesłane poza konkursem.\n\nObecnie w fazi e produkcji znajduje się 10 spektakli\, których dwukrotne pokazy zobaczy my we wrześniu. Publiczność lubelska będzie mogła oglądać je na ży wo w dniach 18-20 września. Po prezentacjach odbędą się rozmowy i spot kania z twórcami. Natomiast od 21 września zarejestrowane występy będz iemy prezentować w formule festiwalu on-line. Codziennie będzie można o bejrzeć jeden spektakl.\n\n„Incydent Polski” to też wyjątkowa okazj a do spotkania i integracji środowiska polskich artystów cyrkowych\, gdy ż współpracujemy z artystami z różnych stron Polski: Szczecin\, Wroc ław\, Warszawa\, Olsztyn\, Lublin. Podczas festiwalu chcemy zaprezentowa ć artystom biorącym udział w festiwalu możliwości dalszego rozwoju i przebijania się na sceny międzynarodowe. Okazją do tego będzie spotkan ie informacyjne\, poświęcone jednemu z najbardziej prestiżowych konkurs ów międzynarodowych adresowanych do twórców i artystów cyrku współc zesnego – Circus Next\, którego Warsztaty Kultury są polskim przedstaw icielem. Polscy artyści dowiedzą się jak wygląda proces naboru i oceny wniosków oraz proces produkcji spektakli realizowany w ramach programu C ircus Next.\n\nPremiery spektakli to główna oś tegorocznego festiwalu\, nie zapominamy jednak o ludycznym charakterze festiwalu i występach busk erskich\, które bywalcy Carnavalu dobrze znają i czekają na nie co rok. You will be able to watch one show every day. \nSadly\, we will not meet buskers at street performances\, but we will watch them dur ing Backyard Circus shows\, which this year will not follow the itinerant format but will take place four times in one place\n\n➡️ Urban Highlin e will be a little limited this year. \n\n🔹🔹🔹\n\nIn the face of t he coronavirus pandemic\, artists\, promoters and people associated with c ulture have been put in a difficult position. We have been forced to stop the very advanced progress on the 11th Carnaval Sztukmistrzów\, as the fe stival in its current format of a large street event\, featuring many fore ign artists\, wouldn’t have been safe for the audience. The epidemic res trictions have prevented us from keeping the planned date and form of the festival.\n\nAs the creators and organisers of the largest new circus fest ival in Poland we have focused on what has been one of the main objectives of the festival since its inception\, that is actively supporting Polish artists involved in the contemporary circus. Thus\, this year’s edition of Carnaval Sztukmistrzów will take the form of a showcase of Polish cont emporary circus productions on a scale that has never been seen before.\n\ nWe want to invite you to the 11th edition of Carnaval Sztukmistrzów\, as unique as the entire year 2020\, in which the focus will be on premieres of Polish circus shows. The festival with the name “The Polish Incident ” will take place between 17-20 September on several outdoor stages.\n\n The name refers to the sudden and unexpected situation\, in which we have found ourselves as the organisers of an international festival\, but it’ s also a symbolic beginning of the search for the so-called character of P olish circus scene. We believe that the single and sudden incident will tr ansform into the first ever in Poland\, regular forum for presenting conte mporary Polish circus shows. We are convinced that it will also lead to th e dynamic development of this field of performative arts in Poland and tha nks to the cooperation\, among others\, with the international platform Ci rcusNext\, to gain broader international publicity.\n\nTherefore\, we hope that this year of crisis is also an opportunity\, that it will become a y ear of \nintensive development of the industry and will result in many exc ellent shows that in future seasons will spread in Poland and the world.\n \nThe programme of Carnaval Sztukmistrzów – The Polish Incident include s outdoor shows and acts of varying scale – from one-person busker-like performances to huge theatrical productions. Among them are two production s of the winners of the contest for an outdoor circus show which we held a t the start of the year and 5 contest submissions with the highest score a nd three submitted outside the contest. There are currently 10 shows in p roduction\, and we will see them twice in September. Lublin’s audiences will watch them live between 17-20 September. The presentations will be fo llowed by talks and meetings with the artists. From September 21\, we will present the recorded performances as an online festival. Every day you wi ll watch one performance.\n\n“The Polish Incident” is also a unique op portunity for the Polish circus artists to meet and integrate as we work w ith artists from various parts of Poland: Szczecin\, Wrocław\, Warsaw\, O lsztyn\, Lublin. During the festival\, we want to present the artists tak ing part in the festival with the possibilities of further development and breaking through to international stages.\n\nAn opportunity to do will be an information meeting dedicated to one of the most prestigious internati onal contests addressed to creators and artists of contemporary circus – CircusNext\, represented in Poland by Workshops of Culture. Polish artist s will find out what the process of selection and evaluation of submission s looks like and how are the shows produced within the CircusNext programm e. \n\nShow premieres are the principal element of this year’s festival \, but we are not forgetting the ludic character of the festival and buske r performances\, which Carnaval’s regular visitors know well and look fo rward to every year. Unfortunately\, we will not meet buskers in the stre ets\, but we will be able to watch them perform four special acts on a de dicated outdoor stage.\n\nAnother integral part of Carnaval Sztukmistrzów is Urban Highline Festival which because of the pandemic will be a little limited this year. \n\nThe spaces in which we will hold the performances of this year’s edition of Carnaval Sztukmistrzów are semi-open and must meet specific requirements because of sanitary restrictions.
