Individualism in economic terms has been a disappointment. More and more companies see the potential in working together, not just at the organizational level, but also in sharing ideas and exchanging experiences. Managers have begun to appreciate the value of communities, these groups of people focused on common ideas and sharing knowledge.

Organizations that have cooperation in their DNA become attractive partners. Many corporations even try to foster their own communities. Is it merely because of CSR policies? Or is it a calculated business decision? Do these communities really achieve their goals? Do community members see a business value as well as a social value in community networking?
