 uds\, the clatter of distorted percussion\, fever dream lullaby melodies
 —it can be difficult to discern what sounds we’re hearing over the cou
 rse of Nordra’s eponymous debut given the strange and unorthodox context
  of their combination. Monika Khot’s (also bass player/synth for the ban
 d Daughters) conceptual approach becomes abundantly clear in the live perf
 ormances\, where deftly crafted on-the-fly MPC beats serve as the static f
 oundation to her dynamic compositions constructed out of guitar\, pocket t
 rumpet\, analog synth\, handmade electronics\, and vocals. The harsh and r
 igid beats that open the album on “Apologize To Me\, Humanity” demonst
 rate the first part of the equation\; the layered horn drones\, aluminum-n
 eck guitar riffs\, and beautifully crooked closing melody encapsulate the 
 latter half. Across the album’s four hallucinatory tracks\, it becomes a
 bundantly clear that Khot is a musical mastermind\, able to navigate multi
 ple stylistic and tonal shifts while nimbly switching between wildly diver
 gent instruments over the course of a single song\, all while maintaining

  sorrowkillsyouth\n\nS K Y a.k.a. sorrowkillsyouth is a sonic exorcism of 
 fears and sorrow. Through the musical language of nightmares and dreams\, 
 the sound of haunting vocal harmonies and cinematic\, gloomy synths\, she 
 struggles to reconcile with ghosts of the past and put to sleep her inner 
 demons. S K Y's songs are reminiscent of a soundtrack for an unreleased se
